This stuff really is damn fun!!! And this crowd has come together and made amazing progress over a very short period of time advancing sled audio. Great debates and in many cases splitting hairs but always the common goal of brothas and sisters getting some quality HD wind therapy with very cool tunes.
So maybe the fairing didn't fit as good as i thought with the crossover cover on the brake side. I found a gap and ended up removing the crossover cover. Now the fairing seals up tight
A little sample. Swapped the Diamond out for the TM400 amp and to me it sounds better, but it looks like I'll need to get new tweeters for the grill since they got smoked last night. For those of you running 230+ watts be careful. I'm running 185 watts and with less than a 1/2 hour of play time going no higher than 11 or 12 of 17 (tuned to max at 15 of 17) the tweeters are dead. Tried hooking them up direct to the amp just to test for sound and nothing. Either i got a junk set or I'm doing something wrong. Only replacement tweeters that i can find are from the Millie line and are $350. Emailed the vendor i bought from to see if there is anything he can do, but I'm pretty sure I'm on my own here. At least with the bike standing still it sounds amazing lol.
Luckily, if that's how you want to look at it, there has been more than enough OT going around.
Starting to wonder if i got hosed with a knock off set of hertz. When i get home in gonna check all serial numbers and call hertz to verify and go from there. The woofers that came in the set are sounding really good so far, just hoping they stay that way.
Dude I have 30 hours now on mine with no issues at all. You got to be a little meticulous on setup with high power . Something is definitely wrong here.
Soldered the speaker wires to the quick connect harness, heat shrink wrap and then electrical tape, clearly marked all +/-. Only thing that might be wrong is the tweeter lead with the red stripe is not the positive lead, but i doubt that. Tweets sounded great until i smelled them getting too hot and at that point it was too late. I would think they would at least crackle or something when wired directly to the amp, but no sound at all.
What did u have the crossover set at and what kind of juice were u throwing at them speaks as u were tinkering?
T.
I was using the 0db setting on the crossover and running 12 of 17 on volume (set max volume to 15 of 17 on the stock Rushmore head unit, engine running)
Maybe i should have went full volume for setting the gains since the head unit has a clear signal with no distortion accordingb to the SMD DD-1
