Disconnect all the speakers from the amp
Turn the gains on the amp all the way down. Set xovers to Flat
Connect the DMM to one of the speaker outputs on the amp + & -
Set the DMM to VAC. If the DMM is not auto ranging set it to view four digits or more (00.00)
Play the 1000Hz test tone
Set the Rushmore HU to 15 or 16 volume with Bass, Treble and Fade to flat (Middle)
Slowly turn the gains up until the clipping light comes on and make note of the VAC on the DMM
ok i started at .6 then to 14.3 clip light came on.
Now what.

The 800.4D is rated at 120watts @ 4ohm's. Some say it's under rated and can do ~160watts without clipping.
With 4ohm speakers at 120W you should see about 22.00 VAC. At 160w you would see about 25.30 VAC.
So what's important is what VAC reading you see at clipping, and why Haze asked. This will tell him roughly how may clean watts the amp is producing. It should be at least 22.00 VAC.

If your reading the VAC on the DMM correctly the amp is clipping at 51watts.
See what you get for a reading on four channels as tesnevo suggested?
Are there two LL connected to the amp?
Going to have to start troubleshooting back toward the source.
The installation kit i got for the amp from BAB had to had two resistors 47 ohm. When i had the biketronics amp i never had any resistors.
I know nothing about the resistors, but start with checking all of your input switches. Some of the amps have hi or low level input switches / 2/4/mono switches that can ultimately impact the VAC.
Shoot BAB a PM and maybe he can assist as well. Spoke to him today for a while on his day off about various audio topics as that boy is passionate about this stuff.
Take ur time and double or triple check ur install and settings. It will be a simple fix.
It clipped as in solid red or blue? Keep raising it until solid red and mark it. Then put some music on and raised your gains like BAB said until it flashes red then turn it down a notch. Now see if the gain is close to where u marked.
Lastly when you have music on and it flashes red.....how does it sound? Does it sound distorted?
The amp will not clip if i unplug the white rca input from the amp. The red input does not on the amp. I can turn the red input to max with out clipping.
