Hell who knows. Can't get any info out of him except he's putting a "package" together to sell. He Won't give out any info on the products so I'm not sure how he's expecting to accomplish it.
I have to say i am pretty tied into to what is being developed or tested and I have absolutely no idea what this guy is using or talking about. He did state its not a major brand name so i assume he may have had one built...It may very well be a good unit but the fact that he hasn't made a RG version yet let me know right away that it is most likely the same physical size of most double dins so RG fitment won't be easy with out cutting or swapping out brackets. However all of this is assumption because the OP didn't post any actual details lol.
Who really knows. I've asked him multiple times to bring it to the audio forum, he won't. He won't share any equipment details nor specs of items.
Lol, maybe he's setting up to compete with Harmon Kardon for 2018 bikes.
While it would be great to have an affordable solution, as if anything we do here is deemed "affordable", I'm not holding my breath.
The screen is wrong for the application; you have to be glove less or wear special gloves in order to use it. I have a couple pairs of the "special gloves" and they are a pain to get to work right-if at all.

That would actually not deter me from using it,, especially if the handlebar controls worked,, I use my touch screen very seldom....
By the way he's explaining it, it does seem as though he had it built. He was talking about things slowing down this week due to a computer conference or something like that. That leads me to believe he's using computer gurus to build it for him. It might be interesting to see what he comes up with.

I'm wishing the best for him but by his own admission he has a lot of things not figured out yet like how water resistant its going to be, note he's gonna make it water resistant, what his price point is etc. I may be a naysayer but it just seems to me that the probability of a guy one-offing the perfect double DIN replacement before unit any of the big boys do it is very low, especially outsourcing the R&D, making prototypes, small scale component pricing. All this for a fraction of what others charge... Unless the fraction is 500/1 I just don't see that it's possible but hey... What do I know?
All good points. IMO if he can deliver a competitive product at even a slightly lower price point it may help drive the cost down on the other units which is a win for all of us.
Well I'm rooting for him. Hell it can't hurt to have another option. Ya never know he might come up with something special by thinking outside of the box. Sometimes it takes someone with a different mindset to break the mold. Maybe a computer guy with no audio experience can come up with something good. Stanger things have happened!
