If i run a usb adapter through my aux input on my 09 HK head unit and download music onto a usb stick what will i be able to see on the head unit . Song playlist anything ?

I don't think it will work at all. The aux port is probably analog, and the output from a USB stick is digital. To make it work you need some electronics to convert the signal. Here's a link for a more detailed explanation. https://www.lifewire.com/usb-to-aux-...-audio-3986249
I used to use an iPod that had a 3.5 mm jack with a male to male 3.5 mm patch cord and it worked fine because the iPod took care of the conversion.
You can get cheap MP3 players on Amazon for less than $5.00 that will do the same thing.
Thanks for the reply's I have been using my phone to the usb adapter through a BT adapter - LOL , trying to get rid of the bulk , If i had a few extra bucks a new head unit would solve the problem

I currently use an iPod that I keep in a pouch of my windshield bag. I ran the cable into the faring and then bring it out by the handlebar to plug it in. Keeps the cable from dangling all over the place.
