Just curious..and maybe I'm missing something but I'm curious as to why HU manufacturers don't build in memory. It would be kind of nice to be able to download the contents of a USB stick. Are there good reasons why this isn't done...or maybe it is and I'm not aware of it? It doesn't seem like it would be all that expensive.
Funny. Last week I found out the stock HU in my wife's 15 sonata has 500mb build in and you can copy from USB stick to internal memory.
I personally expect the main players to start providing internal memory in aftermarket units in 1 2 years. Cost wise it is Dirt cheap.
the only reason I can think of is the fact streaming will get more and more important. Future probably will have option to push Sim card 4G only into your unit. But then again most of us have cell phone and any decent hu has bluetooth now. So components are there and Pandora, aha, I heart radio is now commonly supported. If they only could fully support spotify, then I would be completely happy.
Fact is BT audio streaming will take some of the audio quality away. Until cell providers will have super fast data technology in place, flac will not be an option.
In 5 years we will read back this thread and probably say... yeah can you remember that lol... so old school lol
