I have a 2010 ultra limited all stock.planning on upgrade. What can i do to get some base with out cutting up tour pack. Don't want to loose storage space. Looking for some ideas. Planning on an amp and some speakers. I have done car audio but space was not a problem. Are there some 6.5 that have some good base? Not expecting ground pounding base.

You came to the right place and are very wise to ask before making a purchase.
Here are some questions so that the folks here can help you come up with a plan.
What is your budget?
Do you plan on replacing the faring and tour pack speakers?
Is FM reception important?
Do you plan on upgrading the radio?
Do you plan on doing the upgrades yourself?
I plan to keep the stock head unit. I do want FM and CB.
yes on changing all speakers. Low budget if possible. Plan on doing the front first then doing the back. I have no problems doing it myself. All of my friends call me McGuyver. I am not familiar with the motor cycle systems the 2 ohm thing. And also Alt noise etc. I am also planning on mounting a Ham radio on it as i have my ham license I figure i might have to put some chokes on as well as good grounding.

The most important question Bert asked is How much do you want to spend? Your budget determines the suggestions guys will give you here. Audio on a bike can range from $300 bucks to $3000 bucks. "Low Budget" for some guys is $1000 bucks. Others $300.

To start $300 but want to use good epuipment. Start small and add as I go .

That's a bit of an oxymoron. No way to start "small" with a $300 budget AND have the ability to add to what you've started with at a later date. My advice would be to really dig deep about what it is you want out of your upgrades and go from there with determining what your best upgrades would be to get you to your end goal.
I guess what i am looking for is some thing that i can hear at freeway with some decant base. I haven't done a system in some time. I know that their always coming up with something new. I know the stock speakers suck. I would like to have about 100-150 watts per ch. It would be nice if there was a place that you could here different systems but i know that's not possible. I have done pro sound working with 1000's of watts and large speakers but that's not possible on a bike. I don't know that many people with bikes so its hard to compare. I am thinking maybe a 4ch amp. Could the rear speakers be used as base speakers or is there some speakers that would fit that would produce good base. Maybe coaxial in the front for mid and highs. Just throwing out ideas not shure where to start.

At the point where you are seeming to want to go, and what you have tossed as a budget is not achievable. Really the lower mid punch you want will be gone after you ride. Your best bet is to save up some, come back with a solid budget and options can be given. Maybe used you can find a deal on some 602's and a b52 or b54.
