I have an 05 ultra with a completely stock audio system. I would really like to upgrade. I have a budget of about $500. I am considering the Hogtunes Big Ultra Kit. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance
I think for the $500 buck range ur gonna be buying ur stuff from the big box stores that buy that stuff by the shipping cartons thus Haze will be able to provide really damn good guidance but doubt BAL is putting together packages in that price range.
Reach out to him for sure!!! Also do some searching on the Forum as I bet there have been several folks diving into this same exact setup within the last couple of weeks. Good info being exchanged.

Ranger -
The JL 280/4 won't push the infinity Kappas @ 70 watts per channel. That amp performs best bridged with two 4 ohm speakers. Those Kappas need at least 150w to make em sing.
They're currently the same price as the Kappas ($109.99 per pair) @ Crutchfield, so glenc would still be under $500.00.
Before we get too far, I guess we need to ask glenc if he's wanting a 2 or 4 speaker upgrade. I assumed 4 speakers, since the Hogtunes set-up he referenced was a 4 speaker.
Although rated at 70 watts per channel, the dyno test from Sonic shows 122 Watts per channel Certified RMS @ 2 ohms.
Based on those numbers, do you think it's a little light for the Kappas?
The Soundstream PN4.520D is 130 watts @ 2 ohms, but the sound quality isn't as good as the JL.
I was happy when I ran the Kappas in the fairing with the PN2.350D, but that was 175 watts @ 2 ohms, which concurs with your 150 watt suggestion.
This is what I know Ranger. Awhile back when everyone was running the Kappas my friend AAWAV bench tested some amps for us at the time. The sticky is posted on top of the forum. The soundstream PN4.1000D tested out at 237 watts @ 2 Ohms. I was running the Kappas in my upper and lower fairing at the time. 1000D pushing the Kappas. Road to Dallas from Indianapolis and back. Those speakers never blinked. Had my Sony 310 turned up on the 30 the whole trip!! All I'm saying is those speakers are a beast and they can take some power. I don't think 122 watts does em justice. So yeah I think it's a little light. The Op would be much better off with the Cerwin Vega B4 and the Kappas.
