Hey guys Im installing a ASWC-1 in my buddys 08' roadie with a Kenwood KMR-D765BT HU I notice theres a 12k-ohm resistor included and metra says may be needed with certain Kenwood radios does anyone know about this? Also Ive read something about that you have to run a ground wire to the cig lighter can you help me with this? This will be ran with a RF 300X2 Amp and Infinity Kappas Also originally he was running the stock HK HU with the PBR 300X2 and infinitys when we did that install we snipped the RCA's for the speaker wire. Do we need to purchase the RF 1560-56458-02 RCA/Plug Harness again now being an aftermarket Kenwood unit?
TIA

Well I spoke to Metra tech service and they told me we have the newest module currently out I did update it to the most current firmware version anyway but he told me that we really didnt need to. This one is pretty much plug and play theres no more cutting your factory wire on the clutch side to ground it off the cig lighter anymore. Also he said we shouldnt need to use the inline resistor as that was needed mostly for the older Kenwood units but to make sure when its in programming mode that we see the appropriate flashes on the module telling us it synced properly to the bike! If for some reason it doesnt sync correctly the use the Inline resistor then when synced remove the resistor. Hope this helps
BAP... see my refresh on the ASWC-1 thread, should be at the top now - dropbox link was broken...
in case you need it. 2014 and up mentioned as well...
my Kenwood did not need the resistor nor did I get one (2013 SG though)

Thanks AAWAV!! Yeah the install was pretty simple actually soldered and heat shrunk a few wires together all plug and play with no resistor turned the bike on and it automatically synced to the Kenwood HU and bike go to go!!
