Default No more review threads....

So appearantly admin here says I can't post reviews of items I carry. I, however, don't see it as advertising. For example the Arc DSP is something folks had tons of questions on. What better way to share the good AND bad of a product than thru a review. I think I'm pretty honest with my feedback and almost always send items out to folks for their thoughts first so I know whatever I'm thinking is not just in my whacky head.

Theres so so many neat items out there, how else would I introduce them and initiate a "discussion" on new items if it wasn't by starting a post.

What I find ironic is that if someone posts looking for an upgrade (as they do all day here) I can fill that thread with my items! That's the LAST thing I try to do. I'm open to suggestions. How can I introduce new items if not thru a review thread?

Ask for others opinions on a certain thing. Then give you opinion.

Maybe another location that you post on or leave a write up like Dropbox or something like that. We can PM you for the location and then all you have to do is let all of us know when there is something new without actually providing product details in the forum. Then we can ask questions about anything we want just like we do now.

Just so we're all on the same page here. This is the rule that he is talking about. It applies to ALL Vendors. You guys went bonkers when another vendor posted all over this section and we finally reigned him in.

"It has come to our attention you are using non vendor sections at HDForums.com to sell or promote your products and therefore breaking the Vendor Posting Rules For HDF posted over here. We have moved your thread [name and link to thread] to [either Sponsoring Vendors Section or Vendor For Sale Classifieds Section]
We understand that the rules of HDForums.com may have just been overlooked by you.
Although we greatly appreciated your sponsorship, we do not want the vendors starting any advertising thread in any section other than the vendor section. Vendors are allowed to post things like DIYs in a model section or tech section but if it doesnt offer useful technical information, it gets moved.
The aim of this policy is to cut back on the spam in tech and model sections, while encouraging vendors to put together quality DIY articles based on their products. A DIY benefits you as a vendor by being allowed to stay in a tech or model section and it benefits the members and the forum as well.

Thank you for your time,
Izzo

.....and like I said. I wasn't selling anything. I was sharing my experience. Where, in fact, the first two guys who posted (bufbills and cshocker)about the speakers in my review went and purchased them elsewhere. It's info sharing man. I don't even jump in people's threads with suggestions so I'm not advertising like the last guy.

Since it's limited to "vendors" post your reviews under your regular (haze) "non vendor" account.
There's no issues with regular members posting reviews. I don't see how's there's a conflict of interest if your regular account has no link/advertisement/reference to your vendor account.
