Okay, I've searched &have found contradicting information, so I'll ask.
2014 Street Glide with the 4.3 Radio. I want to start with upgrading speakers. Maybe an amp in the future, but not now. Will I need a radio flash or not?
I know I need 2ohm speakers. I don't want to spend a ton of money. The JBL GTO638 seems to have good HD based reviews on Amazon. Otherwise maybe Polk MM651 or Infiniti Kappas. other than the speaker adapters, what will I need?
If I decide to add an amp down the road, what all will I need then? Flash or just some inverters?

my suggestion is to wait til you decide which amp you want, cuz speakers alone wont get you any improvement

I violently second that recommendation. Tap the brakes and save up for a speaker and amp combo.
If you are doing just fairing speakers u will not need a flash as the flash that is spoken of most around here is to open up the rear channel for lids speaks or adding a TP.
Since it's a Rushmore u will need a BT 355 Line Leveler to flatten out the crappy HD bass curve. This also makes it a "plus and play" install.
How do I know if the previous owner had the rear speakers flashed but took them off? When scrolling through my diagnostic menu earlier I had codes b1350 & b1342 for rear speakers open.

Do you have rear fade control? If you don't, then the bike was probably not flashed. That is an older software version though.
