Wrapping up an amp/speaker install and decided to retain my handlebar controls with the 99-9600 install kit with ASWC-1 module. I believe I'm wired properly, and the led on the AXXESS module turns solid green after flashing but still no controls. I called Metra this afternoon and he helped me to the point where we both thought I could handle it from there. I went through the programming sequence, and I believe the module recognizes the bike, but no control. I've tried to reprogram it multiple times, but no success. I'm really frustrated at this point. Any help from someone who's been there done that would be greatly appreciated!
This is the only thing stopping me from riding at this point. I just don't know what else to do........
Okay, just tried a reprogram with the 3.5mm jack in back of HU. Once I let off volume and let it do it's thing, the volume on HU shot up to 50 and the head unit was locked in that position. Had to pull out the jack to regain control of HU. Anyone hear of such a thing? I'm new to the ASWC-1 and this kit, but something is all jacked up. HELP.......
First off I want to give a shout out to Gannicus. Without his help this project would still be in its infancy. For those of you considering an aswc1 install with your audio upgrade. Beware the 2 MUST do's if you want to get it right. For those who must ground the pink/white wire, if you pick the wrong side of the plug on the clutch perch side it will NOT work. It's also crucial to get that wire to a Solid Ground! Once I got it right it was a simple programming procedure. My module was doing crazy stuff until I got it right.
My hats off to the Sony MEX-M70bt head unit. Paired it with the Fosgate TM400X4AD. Due to budget installed Polk MM651's in fairing and lowers. It may not be the best budget setup, but it's light years ahead of the factory system.
my only real concern at this point is amp heat. That little Fosgate amp is seriously powerful for its compact size! Velcro'd it to top of HU with zero issues.
When I set my gain using a 1k tone, In order to get my gain to 17.3V I had to crank the gains all the way over to 75%. Testing the other night went well, but that little amp was toasty! I don't know how long she'll last, so I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.
Thanks again Gannicus for your outstanding wisdom/knowledge. It was a pleasure to do this install with your guidance. It would still be in many pieces without your help!
