So, I have an 2016 Road Glide Special and need a better sound system. I am looking for an AMP and adding speakers in my lids.
What is your opinion on the top sound system for your bagger?
And before you pop off and say "if I need a windshield and music then take the cage" I also have a 1996 Road Kind no windshield no tunes for the days I guess I have to be a real biker in your books
You can get louder but good sound quality (as an audiophile myself) will never happen on a motorcycle. The best you can hope for is fair sound. That said, louder is always an option.

Your best bet is to pose the question in the Audio section of the forum. Lots of knowledgeable folks posting in there and many threads comparing systems
Hi Moon, welcome to the forum. To achieve the sound you seek, it will not be attained by adding lids. At 80pmh, the sound that's sitting behind you will be long gone in the breeze. Lids sound killer in the parking lot but on the road they get lost. You can however attain an excellent sound by adding some quality speakers and amp to your fairing. You'll be best served to seek out components rather than coax speakers. The amp you choose will depend on your budget, your current and future plans.
If I wanted to dip my toe into improving my sound from and keep the budget realistic I would put in a JL MXH280/4 and bridge it to a set of Digital Design AW 6.5s with AT28 or BT30 tweeters mounted in the grille. That alone will put a smile on your face.

Yep! That will put a smile on his face alright. The DD D4 amp bridged to those speakers is even better.
