Default Line Leveler

I am not an electronics guy and confused about whether a line leveler is needed when adding an amp and speaker upgrade. I thought as long as I had the bike flashed a line leveler wasn't needed. Is this accurate.

If using a stock radio a SNI-35 line output converter should be used for 13 and down bikes. For 14+ bikes a BT355 line leveler should be used.

These are the best bang for the buck.

To further clarify what Michigan said, a HD "flash" is a process that tells a 2 speaker setup that it now is a 4 speaker setup thus opening up the rear channels of the internal audio system and enabling fade control.

Back in the day, certain "flashes" were attempted to trick the HU into thinking it have various combos of Speaks and amps in order to flatten out the crappy bass curve signal coming out of the HU but those day are over as HD has banned such creative flashes.

Only viable options are BT355 or DSP with the LL being to most cost effective and simple solution.

Not sure what sled ur on but if ur on an ultra no flash is required as the rear channels already exist. If ur on a 2 speaker SG or RG adding rear speaks, u essentially need a flash that mirrors the ultra.

Clear as mud right??

Thanks for the replies. I don't really understand it all but I will be ordering the BT Line Levelers. From what i read, I think I need two, one for the front speakers and one for the rears. I have a 16 Road Glide Ultra.

Thanks for the help

U r correct regarding 2 plug ins for the Ultra. Just tell Donna at BT ur model and year sled and she will hook u up. A BT355 for the front and what they call a break out harness for the rear.

Don't forget to inquire about the HD Forum Discount and also Military/Veteran discounts.

Thanks Tailwind, will call in the morning. Have the bike on the lift, torn apart, doing a sound system upgrade as well as a stage 1 upgrade. Appreciate the help.

I think there are different plugs for a RGU and a batwing ultra. I'm sure they'll ask, but make sure you specify.

Ordered my items this morning. BT is the bomb. So nice and so helpful and it makes me feel good to support a business that literally started in their garage.
