I am looking at upgrading my battery. What batteries are the best bang for the buck and are the Lithium batteries worth the extra dough! Here are some I have interest in; Yuasa Gyz32HL. Shorai LFx36L3, Throttle X MX30L(600 cca), Renagade RG30L-W512 (600 cca), Power Source OL-366P (600 cca). Any info would be appreciated!
Yuasa has 32ah reserve. Heard the lithium doesn't like being ran down as the charging system can't get it back to floating voltage once down. Others don't have the reserve capacity the Yuasa does.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe in order to get higher cca they add more plates to the battery. More plates means less space in between each plate. Less space means a higher chance a plate swelling and coming in contact with another plate which creates a dead short. Found this out when I went battery shopping for the truck. The highest cca battery had a shorter warranty than the stock cca battery for this reason I was told.
With that said my next battery for the bike will be a Yuasa, mostly because I refuse to pay what the dealer charges for a stock battery, it's just ridiculously overpriced!
