All I can say brotha is good on you for taking full advantage of filling each speaker hole with full range sound!!!! The TP strategy is brilliant!!!!

Regarding your fairing PAs, how would u rate the PAs on Slyes sled, CBs sled, and Yoops sled since u had a chance to hear all 3 in person, including your DD VOs? All very close in efficiency but for my ears pretty damn different sounding.

Well it depends on what speakers you are looking at. A pro audio speaker typically will have some of the physical specs posted of the speaker - the excursion (xmas), qts, what it's rated at free air resonance, etc. and will kinda tell you what the physical limits of the speaker are. Most PA speakers also have a frequency graph and impedance curve posted.

Regular coaxials traditionally don't have this posted. Hertz is one company that does. What you have to be able to do is compare apples with apples. For example the sensitivity of the speaker check to see if it was done at 2.83v or at 1watt. Four ohms will require less voltage (less than 2.83) to reach 1watt, but some specs are at 2.83 so with more power, the speaker hits a higher Db and therefore a higher sensitivity is published. At 2.83v, a 4ohm speaker really has about 3-4less db's at one watt. I know this is bit technical and there's a reason 2.83 is used, but the point is when comparing specs make sure they are apples to apples.

Alex,
Your explanation of the 2.83v vs 1 watt helps me, at least, understands what you are getting at regarding specs. Thanks!

One thing to add to the 1w vs 2.83v is a 8 ohm speaker @ 2.83v is equivalent of 1 watt but on a 4ohm is equivalent to 2 watts, so -3db off the efficiency.

T comparing fairing speaks on our 3 sleds is difficult mainly due to the fact that I have no lowers or any other sound besides the 880 vs 8 and 10 speaker setups. The other guys can state what they think it sounds like from their ears, but for me I couldn't say how the others were at that specific location due to all the other speakers in their systems tend to not have the fairing near as isolated as mine. So really mine would be the best comparative to mainly use for how that location specifically sounded.

I heard them all and they all had their differences (clarity, bass, fullness etc.). Only true way to get a good comparison would have been to have them all isolate just fairing speakers and play same song.
