I've been running the BT114 brackets in my SGS literally since the first time I cracked open the fairing to start ripping out factory components. I've used Arc 6.5's and currently Mille Pro's and never got the punchy bass that even my buddies running whatever the highest model of Boom system is (think whatever was installed on a '15 CVO Streetglide). I've since wrapped the speakers with some matting from walmart as others have suggested which maybe helped the sound a little. I was talking to the guys at Arc a couple weeks ago and when I mentioned I was running the BT114 brackets, immediately he said take them out and put the stock pods back in. NOW.....I "could" do that and see if my ears like the results but holy **** it's gonna take some work just to test....so...I ask you guys. What's YOUR opinion of one vs the other? BTW, I'll be installing DD VO's as soon as he has more in stock so that's the speakers I would aim at gauging instead of the Mille's currently running. Btw, I do love the extra space the brackets afforded me in order to mount my Arc PSM and crossovers so there is that aspect too!!!

When i was running the Arc Moto 602 in my pods i started out with sealed pods, then drilled 3" vents into the pods, and then added some poly fill that would go into a pillow vs the sheets. Each step the Motos got better. Up to about 45-50mph I could feel the snare drum in my chest. Can't hurt to experiment, you can always close up the vent with some sound dampener.
So, I've got the BT114 brackets on my 15 Ultra Limited with Arc Moto 6.5's also. No way I'm putting the pods back in. I've already done the sound proofing matting on the inside of the fairing. Anything else I can do to improve mid-bass without putting those damn pods back in?

Did you seal off the front of the brackets to the inside of the inner fairing yet?
