Default Upgrading 1995 cassette player to Radio Sound CD player

Good morning!
I have a 1995 30th Anniversary Edition Ultraclassic and would like to upgrade the obsolete am/fm cassette head unit to a newer Radio Sound am/fm CD player that was used on the 2003-2005 touring models.

Has anyone done this? Any information would be helpful.

Thank you, Les.

You can do that but why wouldn't you just go full blown aftermarket Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer or Alpine? Same time and energy. Radio Sound is obsolete bro. You want USB and Bluetooth capability.

Yes, I know there are more modern upgrades such as what Biketronics offers, but I would like to retain a certain level of originality to this bike. However, Biketronics Retro-Radio kits are certainly an option.

+1, originality doesn't make it anymore valuable. Get something with good sound and features. It will be much cheaper as well.

Why would you upgrade an 8track player to a cassette?
Basically the same difference to what you are suggesting. There are hundreds of options out there that will be far superior to what you want to do. The unit you are suggesting to put in is not original to your model anyway.

Come over to the dark side.

The Harmon-kardon CD units on the Harleys are plug and play with the cassette decks. You should be able to swap it out, plug it in and all of your hand controls will work.

I don't consider the above response BS. Appears to be genuinely trying to help.
