Tylcopeland is there a setting on your amp for low or high voltage my older Cerwin Vega B2 didn't? On my JL there is and I am set on low. Btw I just went out and listened to 5 different songs and it didn't happen. This was in the garage with the bike running.
Low RCA/Preamp Level Range (250 mV - 4 V)
High RCA/Preamp or Speaker Level Range (750 mV - 15 V)

Starbiker99 - there is not a setting on my amp for low or high voltage, only a frequency setting for crossover, HP or LP. I believe this amp is designed to take either input and accommodate accordingly. (I think this is what I read but there is limit information on the actual design, inputs and outputs of this amp). I know the Biketronics line leveler takes the high output and converts it to low, so I would assume Low would be correct, but I am not certain what the BT355's output actually is.
As a note, I ran a series of tests this morning and have discovered that when I increase the volume on the deep bass songs, and get to the top 3 or 4 bars from full volume, the blue led light on the face of the amp starts flickering slightly. I assume the amp isn't going into full protection mode but for some reason it appears to be hitting its current limit. Not sure why. I have the gain set such that at half volume it isn't much louder (if any at all) than stock. It really starts increasing after the half volume though.
I see. Well in that case my CV B2 amp and Infinity Kappa speakers were louder than this setup at a 3rd of the price. Sound quality not as good but probably not $400 difference lol
Edit: By not as loud I mean highway volume. At 80 mph my volume at 75% was way high enough with the old setup. With my new setup at 80 mph I find myself trying to go past 75% very easily.
Edit 2: Since I am only set at 28V I find it hard to believe the AMP is cutting out and not distorting the sound at that volume when it looks like I could safely go to 32V with different speakers.
Alex is supposed to give me a shout one of thees days. Maybe post hurricane!!!

many chance you have a pic of your amp settings and wiring? Something isn't right cause the aw's with more than 150rms should be far better than kappas

This is all I have now. The only thing really different is I had all of my connections soldered with my old setup but I added quick disconnect terminal with this one and some additional RCA cables lol.
Starbiker - Your gains should be at 34.6 with the DMM. That amp produces 250 watts bridged @ 4 ohms. Use Slye's chart as a reference. Turn the bike off and use a battery charger so you can hear the dam thing. Make sure you use a 1000HZ test tone and all your radio settings are flat @ 3/4 volume.
TY - You need to do the same thing and get back to us. The BT line leveler should be left on the default settings.
P.S. Starbiker - Do you have the TXO crossovers?
Gannicus, would you mind looking at the attached spec sheet and let me know what output (W) I should use to figure my target voltage with a DMM for the MD4100? I am only running the 2 MPX 165.3 fairing speakers.
