Yes there's an obvious Double Standard going on here. I don't care how much he pays for Sponsorship, rules are rules and he shouldn't be allowed to have free reign to post as he pleases plugging links to his crap at every possible moment. I think John knows the game has passed him by and he's grasping at straws to try and stay relevant. Everything he tries to sell here is grossly overpriced and not even worth the price of admission. As mentioned earlier, you should take your BIG AUDIO TRAILER back to the rallies and sell your crap to the drunken bikers that don't know any better that wanna brag about how much they spent on their audio. Your crap won't sell here nor will it ever be recommended.
Got to go further up the IB food chain to get anywhere. And likely still get no where then. Best way to lay it down is the management has not and will not change. They are biased, have became stale, and really it's time for a purge. Until that time comes expect the same old same old.
Just have to go old school and self police. In short order it will be more costly for violators to post than the potential gains associated with spam marketing / over-the-top sales practices.
Nothing we have not seen before.
Gloves off. As G always says, "don't threaten me with a good time!!!!!!"
JM appears to be the exception rather than the rule. The mods beat the hell out of Alex as Matt76mich stated above. I've been through this pissing contest before and it wasn't pretty. At one time myself, Alex, SBates, Slydog and BertK were the only one's left here to give advice. Nutz moved to another forum and this audio forum almost died. After all the hard work, time and effort to get this forum rolling again. I'd hate to see this forum regress back to low membership because one vendor appears to be above the law and or rules. Doesn't matter if he is or is not. That's the perception and we all know what perception can do to any venue.
I'm a relatively new guy here and have no alliances to any vendor. In my short time here, its very plain to see the double standard being displayed and allowed.
I like the fact that Alex does reviews and technical comparisons of available merchandise. Some of his reviews even include items he doesn't sell or stock. Additionally, while he might sell these items, there are other outlets available to purchase. I've never witnessed an unsolicted posting leading to his business. If someone asks where something is available, he may present that he sells the item. He is by far a respectable business person and not a post ***** drumming up business.
John on the other hand, interjects his product everywhere he can. Sometimes it happens even where it doesn't belong. More times than not, totally unsolicited. His posting ***** tactics are always on products only available through JM.
I guess the long and short of it for me is, as a relatively new guy to this area, based on my observations; I'll never buy anything from JM solely based on his business methods. I know business can be a ****** game, but I don't play into it. I don't play it in my business, I wont play it with others either!! That and all the commas make me nuts. Lol

I could not have said it better, so I'll just 2nd this sentiment!
lets not let one horses **** trying to peddle junk ruin a fantastic forum full of proven products, applications, techniques, and above all great people willing to help.
we all know that 4 kappas and a soundstream amp for $375 will eat a jm $2500 system for lunch
he will fade away again
