Good morning. after doing a forum search I was unable to find a definitive answer whether a Boom 2 amp is bridgeable or not. I understand it is a 4 channel amp and that the compatible boom 2 speakers use two channels on the amp to fire one speaker.
These amps are stock on my 18 CVO and before I tear everything out (like in the past) I'd like to see if they are usable. I've owned amps that were bridgeable that didn't have a switch to utilize this feature. They just required the use of channel one + and channel two -.
Just curious as 150 watts bridged to one speaker may suit my needs with a speaker change.
I have been thinking of switching away from Boom 2.... The Boom Amp appears completely locked down with no options to make changes of any kind. No switches, no gain controls, filters, crossovers and no user selectable options. It seems that was the way Harley designed the entire system so no after market upgrades would be possible. At least not without removing all the Boom equipment. Very frustrating...

Harley chose to keep it proprietary, and did not make it user friendly with any aftermarket audio gear. Unfortunately, you are better to yank it all and go full aftermarket, but the good news, is that there is lots of great audio gear out there these days.
Question along the same lines. Got a 21 cvo trike with the Boom amp in the fairing. From what I've been told, you can't even swap out the speakers to better 2 ohm speakers.... True?

Boom! Stage II is bi-amped. In theory, there are ways you might replace the speakers but it's not worth the effort. Rip and replace or live with what you have are the best 2 options.
There are some 2ohm speakers that might get marginally better...like ifinity kappas, but you can do SO much better with just a budget amp thats not boom....

youd need separate mids and horns in a 2 ohm flavour for bi-amping if this is Stage II. Even then there are gotchas for sure (no ability to tune). Not worth the effort (so we are on the same page)
