this type of ordeal is why I did not sign up as a sponsor!
m
every other forum that I am on, (there are quite a few), does not care that I promote anything to do with my shop, as long as I follow some reasonable and general guidelines and act like a professional. I looked into joining as a sponsor here, and now am glad that I have chosen not to.

Rules and perceptions, what a total crock. Whatever happened to applying a little common sense?????
Someone must be "outraged" and "offended".....it's the world we live in today. Next thing you know someone will complain about being groped at a bike sound-off event.
This is not a free site run by some guy out of his house. It is a commercial site run by a business, Internet Brands. They make their money by charging businesses to advertise. Allowing some businesses to promote their wares here for a fee and let others do the same for free is bad business. That's the issue here and that's all. No personalities, just cash. Their game, their rules.
For what it's worth, I was asked by them today how I would handle this. I responded that I didn't feel Haze was trying to skirt the rules and after his sponsorship has run out, he be able to continue as Haze. So I'm asking you all to just sit tight and lay off the negativity. You don't understand the whole problem and it's counterproductive to just blast hate. The very bottom line is this really is only between BAL and IB Brands.

That's awesome! Thank you for explaining a little more of how the site runs from the back-end and standing up for us average Joe's and Haze.

I fully understand how this works and disagree that this is just between IB and BAL. If we just kept quiet (interesting how the I'm back as HAZE324 thread was deleted) BAL would have went away silently. Not keeping quiet about it has you talking with IB about it and sharing our concerns.
The bottom line is the members here make money for IB. Sure they (IB) pay to host and have that overhead, but the members bring the traffic. If we post and bring lots of traffic, IB gets more Ad revenue. If IB screws it up and we all go away so does a lot of the traffic.
Another interesting thing is BAL does not want to be a sponsor. He paid and followed the sponsor rules and now wants to be a regular member here. IB looks like they chose to ban him even before he did anything wrong. I completely see IB banning a member for breaking the rules, but this is all happening and he hasn't even broke a single rule. This is all based on what he could do once a regular member. It makes no sense at all.
