i wonder if the will fit if i mount them "inside the pod"?
I saw a vid on youtube mounting focals inside the pods. I'm sure it can be done. I didn't want to buy the brackets but after taking the pods in and out a couple of times, I'm so glad I spent the $$ for the brackets.
bit the bullet and bought the brackets. actually found a good deal. i guy on fb had the brackets and the mounts for passenger floor boards that the misses needs. package deal 240 shipped! score
finally back from vaca, the inner fairing finally painted, and gauges back from having led colors changed.
so got everything back together and in the middle of the wiring the speakers and amp. Instead of the bt 355 line leveler, im using a PAC SNI-15 ($10.) Only difference between the two is the PAC doesn't come with the nice molex connectors like the bt355 does, so I have to go the cut and splice route instead of plug and play.
so if my calculations are correct, I should be able to cut the factory harness that I removed from the stock pods (using the bt brackets now) in half so I can now solder the half coming from the molex connector to the input wires from the pac sni-15 line leveler. and rca cables from leveler to amp.
Then with the other half of the harness which is attached to the speaker I can solder longer wires to make them long enough and run them to the amp outputs.....
this sound like im doing it right?

You're in for a rude awakening if you think that's the only difference in those two. The BT355 was advised to you for your setup for a reason and it wasn't to spend more of your money. As InTheWind stated it flattens the bass curve in the Rushmore HU. The PAC SNI-35 isn't capable of doing that.
Should have the line leveler tomorrow and as soon as get it I can finally fire this bad boy up. Is there any settings I need to change in the head units (bass, treble, etc)
also what about settings on the amp? I am bridged across channel 1 and 2 on the output side of the amp. On this side that is pictured below, I have the rca cables plugged in to the channel 1 and 2 low level inputs. Which filter should i be on? High or low? And the frequency should be adjusted right below where I start to hear distortion, correct? Will I need to adjust the input sensor. Dial at all?
thanks again all for the help!

Set your hu flat (in the middle) on both treble and bass. Volume around 3/4. HP filter around 80. Then start turning up your gain until you hear distortion. When you hear distortion back the gain off a bit and you should be good. Also start the bike and fine tune the gain while the bike is running. Easy peasy.
