Has anyone tried to put the AT28 into the tweeter pod BT puts on their Pro Speaker setup? In comparing the AT28 to the HAT Imagine I1 tweeter (assuming this is the tweet BT uses) they are very close dimensionally, within a couple of mm. Not even sure if one can get the tweeter bar by itself but just thinking if that works then it could potentially eliminate the need to perform the grill mod for the AW6.5/AT28 combo.

I'd say that would probably work if you already had the BT Pros in hand and wanted to switch out out the tweets. That said. The BT Pros are 7.1 speakers. So if you are thinking you can incorporate the BT tweeter pod with 6.5 speakers and purchase the BT pod as a stand alone Item from BT. That's an entirely different story!! lol
Hey Gan - the latter scenario is sort of what I'm asking; I'm starting from scratch / stock with the BT line levelers, breakout harness, speaker brackets, and (maybe) the new 4250 amp on the build sheet. I'm not going with the BT speakers, but that tweeter pod looks like the hot setup and a way to not have to do the grill mod. I don't know if BT will break loose of a "bare" tweeter pod mount without buying the 7.1 Pro setup but I don't need them since I've decided to go the DD component route. But since the tweeter mount attaches to the front of the speaker bracket and not the speaker, I figured it wouldn't matter what size speakers I'm mounting. I know that's a question for BT, but I was wondering if it would at least conceptually work.
Olds - man, those mounts sure are pretty but as Lastride noted I'm guessing there was a little CNC help there and unfortunately I don't have access to a machine shop (after looking at those I wish I did!). Looks like you could probably make a few more of those and get you a side business going on the forums...

Great insight thanks! How are they secured in the grills - the stock clips, silicone, etc.?
The BT-30s come with a screw ring that holds them in. I don't know about the AT-28s. The AT-28s may be too deep for this approach but I'm sure you could figure out something that would hold them in place.
Thanks for the clarification and good point on the depth comparison. I bet there's a way to make it work and flipping the stock plastic brackets around was a good idea - I could probably make a spacer to go between the tweet & bracket if it's too deep.
