I have the DD AW 6.5/AT 28 combo in the fairing running off a Arc 600.4. Looking at installing hertz mpx 690.3 in the lids. Would this be a good match or is there another 6x9 recommendation. Also kicking around the idea of possibly changing amps to the new biketronics.
That amp is enough for the milles in the lids. You can run the rear channel gain higher than the front with those speakers and in my opinion you will need it as you be able to hear the rears without more power than the front.
Another option is the pioneer pros! I ran them with the dd/aw combo and it was solid. Plus there a lot cheaper lol. The pros dont give the bass that those milles have but its a moot point at speed anyways. Cant go wrong either way

Did you have one amp running the dd/aw combo and the pioneers? If so what was it? Thanks

I personally didn't care for the ts6900 pros. Less bass than the milles and too harsh for my ears. They were loud but in my opinion just not the quality as the milles. I'm gonna have a set for sale soon if my buddy doesn't want them.

Totally agree Yank!!!!
Bang for the buck the Pioneer Pro is without question the best damn full range 6x9 available. Has its weaknesses as does every speaker but for $119 they r impossible to beat at that price.
The Millie Pro are a very damn solid speaker as Hertz makes high quality stuff but ur gonna pay the price at 3 to 4 times more expensive. If ur gonna throw 400 at a 6x9 u might as well target the JL880 as u develop ur Lid audio plan.
The Polk is also a great damn play and just a lil bit more $$$$ than the Pioneer.
Thinking we need some folks to branch out and find some sneaky new 6x9s for sled audio.

I'm not downing the tw 6900's by any means. They are a great speaker for the $$. Because I had the hertz first, for this old man, they sounded better but I had to try a set because.....well they were highly recommended. Bang for the buck, the tw 6900's are fantastic and if they were my first choice I would probably keep them.

Gypsye,
It's totally awesome if ur downing a product brother. We are all here to share info from a personal perspective and not pimping product for a shop. The diverse opinions make this forum solid and assist as prevention from sheep mentality.
Of course there are proven products that just work and we see them repeated often as a go to safe and solid play. Even then, dissenting opinions keep us thinking and advancing so keep the honest feedback coming as it helps us all test assumptions.
In a nutshell, this forum is without question at its best when dudes are not here trying to sell shix they have on their shelves. We benefit the most when we are advancing based on real world feedback, testing new product, and not based on marketing and margins.
