I've read through many, many threads on what people have installed and I'm 99% sure I'm going with the Biketronics 2014 and up Amplifier & Speaker Package for Electra Glides for my '14 Ultra Limited because of their reputation, customer service and lifetime warranty, and the fact that the system is plug-and-play. I chose the BT4180.14 and the BT7B1 Proline 7.1 speakers for the fairing, along with the breakout harness. I haven't decided on what to do for the tour pak speakers as of yet because I don't always ride with the tour pak unless I'm going on a long trip.
My only concern is that I've read that the sound from this system lacks depth and is a little tinny sounding, but that can be cured by restoring the radio to factory defaults. So, that's that I guess unless you guys can think of any reasons I shouldn't go with this system.
I think the BT products are a great "value" when you consider what you will receive for your money, life time warranty, customer service ect! Could you piece meal a better sounding system for less.. probably. The BT Pro's are a great speaker, using the HAT (Hybrid Audio Technology) Legatia speakers for the 6.5 mid bass! The Titan II 6.5's should fit in your TP pods. I'm running the BT 7.1 pods and the Legatia 7.1 SE mid bass and Clarus tweeters in my fairing, just got a new 4250 4 x 250 rms amp to replace my 4180...so I'm a big fan of their products!
IMO from reading and asking on this forum and doing a system last month, you could do much better for the money piecing it together with help from the experts on this site(I'm not one of them)
Again, just my opinion...........

Yeah, you're right, I could piece a system together. Buy an amp from this guy, buy speakers from that guy, buy the cables from that other guy and on and on, but I'm looking for a turnkey system and something that's plug and play. I just want to do the install without any hassles, like cutting blocks of wood and using aluminum fence ties to mount an amp. Plus, as I stated, I like that the system comes from a reputable company who will be there if I have any issues. Thanks for the feedback, though!
I can't say enough about my experience with Biketronics. I had their system in my 2013 Ultra Limited with upper and lower fairing speakers and a BT2180 amp. I am currently preparing to install a BT kit in my 2017 Road Glide Ultra with upper and lower fairing speakers and a BT2180 amp. Good luck with your system.
Bill
My 4180 biketronics System shipped yesterday for my road glide ultra. Their customer service is insane good. I bought the whole kit minus speakers that Ill buy seperate. Im undecided on them

If i upgrade my stock system as well, are there plug and play kits where i could just plug in a power/negative wire into something and i wont have to take the gas tank off to run wires?
I just had installed the Bt2180.15RG kit and very happy with it.Plenty of volume at any speed. Some songs do sound brighter then others. What your stereo sounds like in a parking lot on its jiffy stand and rolling down the road will be different. But much better then stock.I knew going in that it would never sound like my home stereo. As soon as you start moving the sound will be different.Nature of the beast. But very happy.
Well TexGuy you obviously have read my install post. I was a DUMB newbie and was going to go the same route you did. Until got on here and found out I could put on a BETTER system for less or same amount of money. Mine ran me abut $1000 and my time. I'm the kind of guy that does a lot of looking, reading and asking before I buy, so getting BETTER for same money or less is a high priority for me.
You have to be happy with what you decide on and that is the bottom line
That being said.....this is ONLY MY OPINION. To each there own, that's what makes life interesting.
