Default How Much Amp Cable Needed?

Searched the forum for an answer but couldn't find one, sorry if this been asked before. Trying to find out about how much power cable will I need to install the amp on my 2015 RGS. I know the amp kits come with extra long cables, but I'm buying it by the feet. Running the 12V, fused 8 gauge cable from the faring, under the tank, to the battery. I guesstimated 4.5 feet long, does that sounds about right? As recommended by Rockford, I'm running the same path for my ground cable too. Thanks in advance.

4.5 vs 5 vs 6? What's the cost per foot? Don't nickel and dime it man, get plenty of extra.

This stuff is awesome, it's $.064 a foot!!
