automatic turns on
I had to re read the original post. Does it turn itself on or off?
First take the outer fairing off and inspect the fairing brackets. These are known to break and can cause the radio to vibrate messing up the power board in them. If that isn't the case, check all the wiring harness even the wiring to the speakers and see if any are loose or frayed. If all is good there then the radio has internal problems which are common on the harmon kardon units. You just may need to replace it and I would do that with an aftermarket unit.
A voltage spike or drop during the ignition cycle can cause this. More prevalent when there is a CD in the drive. The 8.11 software update addressed this issue, slowing down the watchdog circuit and making it harder for a spike or drop to reset the unit. Check the software first. If an update is needed it's a free download from Harley.
