I have a 16 Ultra Limited. Can you just replace the stock speakers and significantly upgrade your sounds? Not sure I want to spend a ton of money on an amp and speakers. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Short answer....No. just replacing speakers will not make an improvement without an amp.

No, but the experts on here can help you with a budget system for 300-400 that will make you smile.

First most aftermarket speakers require more power than the boom system or any (even aftermarket) hu can deliver. Second, on a bike, you need the power of an amp to be able to hear your tunes going down the road. Right now, I will bet you cant hear it well at 70 even with the volume all the way up. Changing speakers only wont gain you any more volume from the hu.

OK Bates or anyone else, what do you recommend for those on a budget? The comment about the volume and speed is correct. OK at 70, but when you ramp up to 80, that is a different story.

Will the system be plug and play? Will your system have to be re-flashed?
