I just question if current technology can deliver 1200 watts out of a package that small. If it is truly 150 x 8 then that will be the total power dissipated, and in a brick that size it would have to get hot. I also wonder if they are claiming that figure with a four ohm load or two.

Shoot, the RF TM400x4ad I have gets crazy hot at just 120 x 4 (as listed on the test sheet) into four ohms per channel and it is about the size advertised.

On the flip side my SS PN4.1000d puts out 140 x 4 and I have never felt it get anything more than just barely warm. I suspect the difference is it is MUCH larger and has the metal to dissipate all that heat.

I'm no engineer, but the Rockford is hybrid "D" class technology maybe that also has something to do with the amount of heat dissipated. Not that that would matter pertaining to the topic of the150x8 as it would most likely involve some pretty sophisticated technologies to pull off these claims.

The claim was 150x8 @ 4ohms.

I just saw on Rockford's website where they say the TM400x4ad uses "class AD technology" whatever that means. Maybe that is why it sounds so good for the rated power. If I had the space I would have just put a PN4.1000d in there, but that is a big difference in size.

I have tinkered with the idea of putting the RF in the fairing to drive the front four speakers that don't need as much power and maybe putting an ARC 600.4 in the saddlebag, but those things are crazy expensive and I don't have any experience with them.

Does the ARC get as hot as the Rockford?

Default Two amps

So I ended up going with two amps, and fit them both in the faring. Sound amazing! I originally was going to install two Arc Moto 600.4 which are the 150Wx4 amps but they only had one left and offered up a Focal pdf sport which is 175Wx4 for the same cost. So I have 600W powering the front four and 700W powering the rear four. I ran them for awhile before buttoning up the faring, they got warm but not hot. I ended up using 4 gauge wire for hot and ground from the battery up to the faring and then split off with a distributor for each amp to 8 guage inside the faring. Nice and clean and probably a bit of overkill but it should guarantee everything runs as cool as possible. I still can’t get over the volume and clarity and can clearly hear tunes well over 80.

So you have a Moto 600.4 and Focal FDP in the fairing? Any pics that is impressive.

How'd you get two FDP's in there...wait, which fairing?

I tried stuffing two under my 09 batwing and the "clam" didnt shut completely. Add some detailed photos of your amp racking please!

(edit...ah, ARC and FDP...but still....)

I'm poor so I have no experience with the Arc I'm sure someone can say though they seem popular.
