Have a blown set of components in my fairing at the moment. Right speaker has a tear in the cone etc.. I do have tweeters in the the lower two gauges.
Looking to switch it up a bit and am looking at the DD's with their tweeters. Have the Biketronics 4180 amp, with pioneer pro's in the saddlebags.
How is everyone crossing over the DD's and the tweeters? I have 4 channels in use now, don't really want to add another amp.
(bike is a 2010 Streetglide)
I have the AW/AT components and use the inline TXO crossovers. They are not adjustable and give you a -12d/oct with a 4hz cross at 4ohms. For the (not so fussy) person, they do the job. I think they work great with the AT28s. The AWs have a great full sound as well but, they are hungry speakers. I have been hearing that people have been just as happy with the PRVs and the SP audio as well.
Any current vendors on here that sell these? I see PRV is on parts express, I've bought alot of stuff from them over the years. Would rather talk with a someone on here that knows what i'll need though.

Are you running dome tweeters or bullet/horn style? PRV is a great choice and sound quality is on point for them just have to get the right model. Do you have plans to add anything other than the 2 fronts ?

PRV or Pro Audio in general imho are not a good move for a 2 speaker setup unless u have acquired a taste for a loudspeaker sound platform.
Big difference between full range and pro audio platforms.
To each their own but just know what ur getting into.
I currently have woofers and tweeters in gauge pods. So going with a mid/woofer and horn in the gauge pod using pro-audio drivers isn't recommended? How are others doing this?

Folks are physically doing this install however just not with a 2 speaker setup. Sounds like *****. The 4180 won't help either.
If ur not familiar with the sound of a 2 speaker PA setup, go try and find one and listen to it before buying anything.
I run the shix out of PAs in the fairing but I also have 6 8" Speaks to compliment them.

That makes sense Tailwind. Thanks. Looks like the Focal K2 Power 165KRX2's are 700$ off on crutchfield. Still 600$.. I just know how it goes.. 80+MPH on the interstates here, the volume gets turned up. Afraid i'll just melt the sh** out of these too.
I'm sure they sound amazing, probably overkill for a bike.
