First off I'd like to thank everyone for their posts and comments. Without them I wouldn't have gotten this far.
So looks like it's time to ditch the hogtunes. What we have here is an 07 ultra cvo. I have an Alpine cda-9886 HU and a pair of 9I kappa's sitting around from an old vehicle. Thought I'd go with some polk db522's for the rear pods. On the fence on what amplifier, thinking either an Arc 600.4 or bt 4180. Eventually would like to put the hertz sv165's in the lowers with a separate amp? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok 6.5+ lol You will need a set of adaptors if you don't have any now. Im not a tour pack guy but if you can get a set of 6.5's in the tp, I would do it. The new polk mm series is what most are using as they sound good and easy install. As far as amp go, both the ones you mentioned are viable. The bt isn't very tunable but lifetime warranty. The arc is tunable and should be enough power for your application. I would suggest a set of pa speakers for the lowers as they should compliment what you have in the fairing. I have not heard those kappas you are talking about so I don't know about them. The gurus can help you with exactly what you need. Good luck my friend.
Thanks for the info. I would prefer not to modify the rear pods if at all possible as my wife likes her space if you catch my drift. Not too many options out there for a weather resistant 5.25 speaker though.
