Most folks go with 4ohm speakers to build their systems. The B54 only puts out 80 watts at 4ohms. Severely anemic for 4ohm applications.
Good to know - Thank you!
I have reached out to Badd *** Bikes about their amp mount. It sounds like I am going to go with the Power Acoustik RZ4-2000D 2000W Class D 4 Channel Amplifier running my front speakers for now, then connect the lower speakers when I work up to them.
Any suggestions about the install? Is this a good amp for a simple system?
Bates - I am going to pick your brain. I have been reading threads for a few hours now. What amp mount do you use? Will it work with the SS you posted? Will it work without trimming the gauges? What else do I need to know?
I want to make this the final time I mess with the audio in the fairing. I am going to run the wires for the lowers now, in case I decide to upgrade them later. I will just cap them off in the lowers, so that they don't get damaged.
I use a mount that I got from Badd Azz Bikes but honestly I'm not sure if they are still making thus mount. If so, the SS amp will fit on there without any modifications.
. I ordered https://www.ebay.com/itm/173250183176.
I will be sourcing the wiring kit and RCA cables locally. I will post pictures of everything as I install it. Thanks for the knowledge dropped in this thread!
Make sure you use an audio grade true 8 gauge power and ground and don't forget an in-line fuse for the power wire. Also, don't skimp on the RCA cables either. 12-18" quality cables.
