Default The Man Doing What He Does

Pictured above are Gannicus, Yooperhod , and Babyboy. Sorry I can't tell who is hiding behind gann. But we don't see the rest of the group all standing behind the bike just out of frame all giving their advice/ opinion on tuning my bike!

Gann the man doing what he does! I went to this event (Midwest meet & great) looking for help tuning my system. I started my journey a few years back and have been building ever since. Last year I went with 8s and 6x9s in my bags but could never get the low sound I was looking for. This winter I added different 8s ,amp and DSR1 to the mix. The Dsr1 was over my head and I totally went backwords with my set up.

I pulled into the meet and great around 3pm and Kris (Black Pearl) met us with open arms, showed us around and introduced us to everyone. We weren't there 5 min. when Gannicus stepped up and introduced himself to me. After a quick hand shake and the nice to finally put names and faces thing, Gann says, "so whats your system and lets hear it. After a few short excuses and explanation of what I was up against I fired it up for him and whoever else was within ear shot. Ganns words were - "You got most every thing you need we just need to do a little work to get you straightened out". He looked at it a few times and tweaked a few things. Then the decision was made to rip it all out and start over (at this point I'm all in. What else can I say?LOL). By this time it was getting time to run to the motel and get checked in and have dinner and a few beers. Sat. by 7am Gann had me tearing my faring open, then he and Traveling Gypsy started ripping and tearing. Out came both amps, the DSR1 and most of the wiring. By now most of the guys were up and about. All lending a hand or their opinion. Most everyone eventually headed out in all directions for the morning with all meeting out at Black Pearls for the ride to the sound off. But Gann, T, and Gypsy stayed behind to get everything buttoned back up. We pulled into Pearls just in time to head to the sound off. Since we didn't have time to tune my setup before the sound off, I elected to be a spectator.

Now the sound off was a awesome event in itself but we will talk about it in a another thread.

After the sound off and a few refreshments, it was back to tuning and off came my fairing in the bar parking lot. Not long into it, it was decided that one of my speakers in the fairing wasn't up to snuff so magically T. produced a set for me to try! A short time later we were up running and ready to continue our ride with the group. From then on my wife said she could see the smile on my face even though she was sitting behind me! And she was right. I had the hardest time trying to down play how I really felt when one of the guys would ask how it was sounding now. (I didn't want to sound to much like a babbling idiot now Ha Ha! You know just play it cool)

The most amazing thing about this whole event (to me) is the fact that everyone just dropped what they were up to and totally rebuilt my set up for me. As I tried to thank everyone and show my appreciation the response was always the same (Hey it's what we do).

It is hard to thank each and everyone. So with a big thank you to everyone in the group, you all helped me turn everything around a get my system on track.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm still smiling!!!

Also to Gann, T, and Gypsy, you 3 spent all day Sat. helping when you could have been catching up with the guys that you have known for a long time but instead you stayed back to help the new guy. Sorry I have no other words but Thank You.

I will say this, it was the first time I ever walked outside of a bar( and I have walked/stumbled out of a few) that I saw a bike parked on the grass under a tree with the fairing off and speakers being replaced. Unfortunately I only got to spend the day there but it was well worth the 440 mile trip to hang out and chat with this group for a few hours. Hands down some of the best guys i ever met.

I was a big damn honor getting to spend some time w you and your wife!!!! Thank you again for lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Gann is just an amazing damn person. From day one he took me under his wing (after he and SBates throat punched me a bit about my J&M system) and has always gone out of his way to assist, be a damn good friend, and snap my panties when I'm headed for the deep weeds. Just an amazing heart, with amazing integrity and passion for paying shix forward.

Ur also damn straight about how cool the M&G community was this trip!!!! Everyone looking after each other at every turn. I had my brothers CBedor and ADenton banging on my door at 6:30 wanting to help me do some shix under my hood I was too lazy to do. An hour later I had another damn amp under my hood and all I did was hand them tools that OKC handed me.

Just way damn cool to see everyone so tight and unified as a result of this way cool common passion called sled audio.

Hell, Bedor even chromed my front forks that u guys have been harassing me about.

Great post brother!!!! Very damn refreshing few days up in BRF!!!! Hope to see u guys soon!!

It was an honor to be able to help you with your setup. I just wish I could have been there for the sound off but with an 8hr drive ahead of me and having to be at work Sunday at 7am.......well I ran out of time. I will plan ahead of time next year for this event as working for the US government I have to put in vaca request a year in advance. Anyway, it sounded good after we buttoned it back up and im glad you got to make it to the sound off. Gann is an amazing man and his passion for this is as bad as mine. Thank you for allowing me to help.
