Finally getting around to upgrading the rest of my system after 3 years of having my amp. Until now, Ive only been running the Titan 7.1 in the fairing. Im installing a set of lids/speakers and went to hook up the rear channels on the amp only to find out that I have RR sound, but no LR sound. I get some very faint humming/buzzing out of that corner, but nothing more. Ive switched speakers around to different locations to make sure that it wasnt a bad or blown speaker, Ive tried swapping out RCAs to eliminate that possibility and all net the same results. Ive never used the rear channels since new, so I had no idea of this issue. Could there possibly be something that Im overlooking? Otherwise, what a bitch to break that 2 sided tape loose from the amp rack and get the amp sent in.
That sucks, sounds like you have tested it through the trials. Good news is that amp has a great warranty. I would put a call into Biketronics before you pull it.
Yup. The wires are tight and secure in the terminal. Pull them out of that terminal and insert them in the one right next to it and presto, the speaker works. Switch it back and nada, zilch, nothing. Now I’m just not so patiently waiting for 9 am to call. I discovered the issue at 5:15 last night (they close at 5) so I spent much of the evening trying to pull a rabbit out of my hat.
When u get it back from warranty work use industrial grade Velcro from Home Depot to mont that amp on the tray.

I replaced the amp because of a trip that I had planned and wasn't going to have the BT amp back in time. I did just what you suggested on the new amp after fighting, cutting and prying the BT 2 sided tape off. The new amp has Velcro in case the need arises to remove the amp in the future. But, honestly, I don't know that I'll go back in with the 4180, I actually like the Fosgate amp better. Makes me assume that either my BT amp never worked right from the beginning or I like the way that the Fosgate gains are set by me better to suit my ears. Either way, I enjoy these projects because of the knowledge/experience gained when you're done. Thanks for the input guys.
