Default Saddlebag Amp Mounting...Pics?

So I am pretty sure I will be mounting my DD D4.90 in a bag to make room for the XD400/4 in the fairing. I have a few ideas of how I might do this, but I would appreciate any input/suggestions from the group. I will use Delphi connectors, a marine midget vent, and an Anderson plug. I have thought about using a mount that is bonded into the bag and maybe studs instead of trying to screw the amp down. I will also likely be mounting an amp in my wife’s saddlebag at some point which usually means hers will benefit form what i learned the first time.

Again any pictures, advice, and help of any kind will be greatly appreciated.

I think bonding plates stand out too much. Some look great but nothing looks as good as a nice tight mount, especially in a bag where room is at a premium. Drill the holes and bolt it to the bag. Stainless bonded sealing washer and a locknut keeps everything dry and snug.

This is the winning combination.

Thanks for the idea on the washers. This is going to be a not so straight forward project I guess. There are not a lot of pictures that I'm able to find that show what others have done. Going to have to get creative here.

What speakers are you planning on driving with the bag amp?

There are other amp options to fit in the fairing with the xd.

Yes but I would have to purchase another amp. I'm trying to made do with what I have.

I may try to trade the D4 for a HX280/4 but I don't know how much luck I'll have.

Diamond or JL mount in fairing, do whatever you can to eliminate amp in bag.

I went through this recently... I'm moving to a double din inner fairing. With a double din there really isn't space for an amp on the top of the head unit.

What I ended up doing was creating a false floor in my bag out of black ABS plastic. Cut it too the dimensions of my bag (this was tricky) I put two inch spacers on the bottom of the bag (making space for the amps) then mounted my amps and dsp to the underside of the floor. Now if you look into the bag it looks "empty" but it is 2.5 inches shorter. Truth be told I have a focal sport and dsr1 mounted on the bottom of the "floor" and a SS P4.520D velcro'd into the channel of my stretched bag. This is a lot of stuff in a bag (including wiring) and you wouldn't know it was there unless you took a good hard look.

I had my amps mounted on a custom mount on the back of the bag... The wiring looked a mess and my wife would pull out a wire every time she removed something from the bag. False floor solved this problem! IMHO it was well worth the effort!
