Thanks!!!

Now that's a new one on me. These are 3 ohm configuration. Never seen that before.

This is referring to flattening the EQ when flashing the radio. It's not a specific "Rockford Flash", but rather the settings within the software when flashing the radio (2 Speakers - Upper Fairing/1 Amp). If you don't flash the radio you severely clip the radio outputs feeding your amplifier. Using passive or in-line filters just attenuates an already clipped signal, so it will be distorted even before the signal is amplified.

Harley-Davidson uses this EQ on their BOOM! Audio systems that are not equipped with external amplifiers.
Harley-Davidson removes this EQ when upgrading BOOM! systems with external amps.

Rockford explained it.
I had the shop I bought the amps from flash it after I installed everything. I did have the 0 amp 4 speaker flash before with my arc amp and had fader control. The new flash did take away the fader control.

Hey Lastride I THINK I sent you a PM about those Rockford 6x9s. I've never sent one before so let me know if you didn't get it.

i Was running them off a b52 with hpf. Tuned by ear (although I did put a dvom on them at one point and thought it was ok). I’m a noob at tuning so wrote it off to operator error.

I have an RMA set on the shelf waiting to play with again. Crutchfield got my bad ones so no idea if the told Polk.

this is the b52 settings when I pulled them.

Excellent!! Thank for this info.
Just curious what the RF strategy currently is as our audio brothers seem to be all over the map regarding what flash will deliver the bust results. Most folks are using the zero amp 4 speak flash and has delivered fairly good results for a wide range of aftermarket products.

Thanks again for the reply!! It's huge for street creds to see ur corporation directly involved in product support and technical support on this forum.

I have ad designs in the front fairing, and the rockford fosgate kit in the bags. I was worried about the rears not being up to what the front produces. The shop installing them assured me they would sound great. I wasn't dissapointed

Update with the polks. Polk replied stating these speakers are not designed for motorcycle applications and require professional installation. No warranty will be implemented with non authorized installations. Very vague and they don't have to issue warranty for anyone who installs themselves. I also found out with anything close to them, they get real hot. With that in mind, if running them in the lids, nothing should come within 6" to them.
