Anyone using the Sony MEX-M100BT Marine head unit? Had a Kenwood 799 got caught in the rain display stated do funny stuff, so I upgraded to a Kenwood 998 really like that unit until it got a little wet now bluetooth doesn't work and some other features had stopped working too, so kinda over Kenwood and getting a Marine unit this time, any feedback on the 100bt or other units thats good, I use a Android device to bluetooth music.

Purchase this one from Crutchfield and call it good Bro.
Yes T that's the HU I run and it's BT. The 100 is a newer version and only real difs I could find was a stronger internal amp. The HU Gann recommends is AWESOME and yes Marine, but I always throw on my Biketronics rain guard, just in case when washing or in a downpour. And DAMMM the cost of that thing has really come down....

Did you end up installing the MEX-M100BT? What do you think about it? I am thinking about this for my install. Limited space in the old 87 fairing makes the internal amp attractive to me. How well does the iphone/ipod interface work? Have you had any issues with moisture? CD skip?
I installed it last night. I'm expecting a loud sound from a quality product. I get such low volume that my factory Harley HU was louder. Also, the CD skips due to the vibration of the bike, USB shut down too. The tuner doesn't get as good of reception as the factory unit. I was so excited getting this and thinking I'm starting my custom audio setup for my bike and total disappointment.

Is that all you've done is install a new HU? No amp or aftermarket speakers?
Correct. If the factory unit puts out 20watts per channel and Sony puts out 50 rms and 100 max, it should be louder. It isn't even as loud.
I believe the factory speakers are 2 ohm. The new Sony HU you have is a 4 ohm unit. May have something to do with your issue. You would need an amp to process the signal/power. You are going to cook something I believe? Or install 4 ohm speakers
