I ride a 2015 Ultra Limited.
I was wondering if anyone has CUT the long stock antenna and what it did to reception on the AM/FM. I very seldom use my AM/FM and never use my CB.
But I really dislike the long antennas......
I wouldn't cut it just get some shorty's. They make all sizes. I have had three lengths on my bike though and each time I went with longer antennas the FM reception improved.
I flipped my and ran it under the fender and seat. Didn't hurt the reception, but of course now my D class amp has, so I could probably remove it altogether.
I rarely ever turn on FM as I have XM and stream music from my phone so I wasnt super worried about reception. I found some shorts on eBay for 15 bucks and bought them. They look good, were dirt cheap, and gave me the look I was going for. .
i contemplated cutting down the stock ones but knowing my luck Id run the mow shorter antenna with no little protective ball on top into some soft and painful part of my body when cleaning the bike or packing it.
