Default 2018 RGS in the Spring.

I live close to the York PA HD Plant and there is a dealership close to it that has an employee buy back program that they support. I was in their shop this past summer and saw a 2018 RGS all blacked out, that I really liked. So I put my name in on it to be the first one to purchase it in the spring when the employee turns it back in. He has done this for the past 6-7 yrs and rolls over on them consistently, so Im confident he will keep doing it.
SO in an effort to start to line things up, I would like to be prepared to drop a system in immediately. Since the fairing is different from the batwing, what is a good set up for the faring? where could I put speakers (outside of the stock locations). I will be purchasing Advanblack lowers and adding speakers there as well. (love my lowers on my current bike)

So for now, just taking suggestions. I have about 1500 into my current system and will be 1500-2500 for my next. I would like full range sound out of the fairing and I will be going with PAs on my lowers.

Upgrade to 8” lowers. The difference in sound presence is amazing.

This is my set up. HogWorkz lower pods on factory lowers with Hertz 165p.3 components. I’ve been ridiculed on this forum because I chose to mount tweeters in my lowers, but that’s ok. Take it for what it’s worth, there was no comparison in running just the woofer vs the woofer tweeter combination in volume and SQ at 80 mph and a battle between my sound system and the wind and your pipes screaming at 3000 rpm. Absolutely increased the overall sound stage by miles with the tweeters installed as shown. Just my two cents anyway. Good luck with your choices.

The Hertz are good speakers and adding tweeters to the lowers was a great idea. Most don’t do it be because some tweeters don’t stand up well to the weather.
I think what got you the grief is claiming that it is better than a pa speaker. On the road, a good pa speaker will give you everything you have now and much more. Pa speakers are more efficient and louder producing more highs and mid range vocals than a typical component set. Those are the freqs you hear at speed. But sound is subjective and not everyone hears or likes the same sounds.
