trying to avoid the do-overs!! I'm thinking about the biketronics version of the Sony 5000 for the HU. Now for amp and speakers. Probably just do the fairing pair initially with lowers as a potential later add. Am i on the right path?
FYI we get a 10% discount from Biketronics for being a forum member.
Why the Rockford hate? My bike sounds great at all volumes and speeds and have had zero issues at all. Just wondering. Not looking to argue. Just curious why. Is the the amp? The speakers? What would be a better speaker option for an SG fairing? Tx

I don't think there is a bunch of hate brother. I think in general these discussions are a bit about our brothers & sisters (including myself) not knowing what it out there and how good our systems can really get with the same speaker holes being utilized. Leaning forward is never a bad thing. RF is an average Joe kit setup imho. If u went from Boom to RF u would absolutely be light years ahead and very pleased w your purchase. Up to the point where u hear a different setup that cost less and completely smokes the RF stuff. Hell I liked the J&M stuff when I dumped the Boom. Then I heard other shix and realized that there is some really damn awesome stuff out there for far cheaper. The J&M came out of the sled in record time as I'm an audio enthusiast and always have been, aka my audio unicorn hunt is perpetual.
So if u like the RF, run with it brother. They have some respectable stuff and some garbage too, as w all audio companies. But just know that there is a ton of stuff that smokes it and also stuff that won't touch it.

Understood and thanks for the info. Just curious what would you recommend that is better than that as far a fairing amp and front speakers for a street glide. Don't want to modify the bike to take bigger speakers to accommodate an amp. Stuff that would fit in a stock setup. Thanks again.

The list is pretty long brother. Start a new thread framing ur personal parameters and I'm certain that it will e a solid discussion on 2 speaker fairing speakers. Lots of good RF to other product comparisons will hopefully come to fruition.
