I am looking at installing a set of Rockford Fosgate TMS65 speakers and a PBR300x2 amp on my 2019 streetglide. The question I have is will the radio need to be flashed. I have found conflicting information as you yes it does and no it does not. Just looking for a straight answer. If its not required I'm going to do it myself. If it is required may just have it done. Thanks for the information
It does not have to be flashed but you will need a Line leveler as well to
install that. If you haven’t already bought that amp I wouldn’t and look into something else.

If you have it flashed you won't need a line leveler. Personally, I prefer the flash over the line leveler. It worked/sounded better on my 2014 Boom! 6.5 and about to test it on the Boom GTS.

What flash do you use, that negates using a line leveler? Are you using a dsp?

First of all, that combo does not work well and you will soon be wanting more unless you like ear piercing highs and virtually nothing else including mids including vocals. The pbr amp is very old technology and has very little SQ sound. Those tms65's are best around 75watts as all the RF vids state over powering them will cause them to blow. Also that amp will get hot enough to cook an egg on it. There is a vid out there somewhere showing it. Those amps are cheap for a reason. Just not a good amp at all. A cerwin vega b-52 is a ton better for about the same price. The tms 65's are expensive and a ton better speakers out there for a lot less.
Now as far as the flash goes, I have had my 2018 boom flashed SEVERAL ways and the best flash for your fairing only setup is no flash at all. The factory flash with a set of bt355 line levelers will produce the best SQ as any boom flash that no LL is needed will flatten out the signal so much that you loose sq and the lows if any will just sound dull. Kind of like listening to a bad fm station all the time.
Due to work I have not been able to do anything to the bike. I'm open to any suggestions about components anyone has. I don't need a heart pounding over the top system I just want it to have a good sound to it. I'm wanting to spend around 1K for a 2 speaker system.

I would think for 1K you could do a lot. I had about $400 in my system with a PBR300x2 and 2 Infinity Kappas. I had that system for over 3 years and it never disappointed.

For 1k you could get yourself a really nice set of coax maybe the Beymas not sure which ones as their are many and a nice amp like the SD amps wait till April to get the new version with adjustable crossovers. That would be a sweet two speaker set up. The only think those PBR amps are good for around my area are for target practice. Keep researching and you will get there.
