Looking for opinions or info regarding mmats pa601.cx vs hertz hcx 165 for fairing speakers to go on 2 channels of a RF tm400x4ad ? Any info is greatley appreciated thanks !

ive heard both speakers and i personally chose mmats only because i have mmats amps and cost. Both are excellent for fairing speakers. Alot of people will chime in a say mmats for lowers and hertz for fairings but either or will do.. so again its a crap shoot bud.. it will come down to your personal preference and your ear drum my friend. That Fosgate will probably push the mmats the best tho..just my 2cent

just curious why you say cost?
from what I can tell hertz are 149. Per pair and mmats 99. Each
well because both were so equal to me sound wise...I thought why not save a few bucks plus I have mmats everywhere else on my sled so i chose the 601s.. i am very pleased with 601s too .. dont get me wrong. for $99. good bang for your buck..no doubt..
The Mmat 601 CX are loud as hell. Don't do well in the mid bass freqs as that is the design. More of a mid range.
If ur looking for a aggressive coax u might consider the DB Moto Gen 2 as they are in the same general loud as hell category but do handle the mid bass stuff a bit better.
Mmats are marine treated and Motos claim to be waterproof, whatever that means.
I think u can find the Motos for $230 as some shops are offer prerelease order deals.
Just depends on ur ears, and overall setup. Both are good but have different characteristics. A bud of mine who is a bit more into the R&B & Hip Hop scene just dropped the Mmats in his fairing to test out and pulled them after 2 songs. Meanwhile my other bud snatched them up in a heartbeat for his lowers to compliment his hard rock and midbass fairing speakers & JL880 Lids.
Tuff call. Just find out what ur ears want as there are usually some good options to get ur ship to shore.
