Never used one of them so I'm not sure if it would be a annoyance or not. You could always go with a regular mount and buy a $20 splash cover from Biketronics to throw on when you needed it.
That comes to around $315. You need to at least go with a 6.5" speaker like I posted instead of the 5.25. You may find that this is all that you need but it will work even better with an amp.
Just for SnG's here's an amp that will work great with that setup.
Hi Bates, thats a cool cover combo, I find the loose "type" cover can fly off while riding so i only put it on when i park out side for extended times, or washing the bike. This style [as long as it doesn't stop CD or iPod drawer open and closing movements, I have a older Sony 310 HU with Tune Drawer] would work out nice

The splash guard from Biketronics (BT68) will not fly off. That's the only one I use and the only one I suggest. This cover combo from Metra is a cool idea if it works. I've never used it either.
