I have a 2007 Road Glide with the factory stereo and speakers. I'm wanting to upgrade the system, and I think I know what I want, but I'm open to suggestions of anything that might be better. I had a 2007 Ultra that I upgraded the fairing speakers to Infinity Kappa 62.11I and had a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 pushing them, and was still running the factory head unit. It sounded great, even with the rear speakers eliminated. It looks like Infinity has discontinued the Infinity Kappa 62.11I speakers and replaced that model with the Infinity Kappa 62IX. Has anyone used these new models? Will the 6.5" Infinity Kappa 62IX speakers fit in the Road Glide fairing?
I'm wanting to get the Infinity Kappa 62IX speakers and push them with the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2, and replace the head unit with the Aquatic AV AQ-MP-5BT-H
What do you think of this set up? Like I said, I'm open to other suggestions. I just want loud, clear, sound at highway speeds for my passenger and I.
Thank you for all your help
Here are links to the head unit, speakers and amp.
So let's start with the process of elimination. That amp is garbage.
The Kappas are a trusted budget & lower tier option but lower sound quality is the trade off.
Tons of other options out there that can deliver some better SQ for just a few more bucks or even the similar bucks that require just a little more energy to install.
Ditch the PBR amp and go with the Cerwin Vega B52. The Kappa 62ix are as good or better than the 62.11. If you were pleased with the old ones you'll be pleased with the new ones as well. Pretty sure you'll need adapters as well.
Why do you not like the PBR amp? I've never had any trouble out of them. Thanks for the advice, you certainly have my attention! That Cerwin Vega in the link is a D Class amp. Will that not have a negative impact on my radio reception?
Also,
Tailwind, if you have specific suggestions of what would be better than my old set up in my Ultra, I would love to hear them. I was really pleased with that set-up, but it could be simply because I didn't know any better!
How much is ur budget? Types of music? Riding style?
T
No, my RG only has locations for 2 speakers.
I haven't set a budget, because the sound quality is more important than the cash......otherwise I would keep the stock speakers and just ride.
I like and listen too all types of music. I'm looking for sound quality and clarity at highway speeds and beyond.
Riding style........Is FAST considered an riding style?
