Default 4 average speakers or 2 killer fairing speakers?

Questioning adding some 6x9 lids to a 18 SG. Just wondering if it would be worth the cost of the lids and some half way decent speakers or just spending all the budget on some Beymas in the fairing?

More surface area is better so lids are a definite go plus 6.5’s won’t give you the low end of quality 6x9’s. Do you really like Beyma’s ?

There are benefits to both. if you are looking for that "bubble" of sound from front and rear then lids are worth it. Your best combo is fairing and lowers as the lowers can be heard at and speed where the lids fall off around 70 or so. At lower speeds lids can provide that bubble but at any speed the fairing and lowers can be heard. If I were you, I would concentrate on a good fairing setup and go lowers/lids at a later date when you want to upgrade. At that time, your fairing is done and no need to upgrade it or spend twice,3x or more times like someone I know.........just saying for a friend.

That’s a good question. I always thought lids added to the sound so I’ve had them on all my bikes. Do recommend spending some money on good fairing speakers. As said, the fairing can always be heard whereas the lids fall away as you pick up speed.
