Default New Batwing Radio Install ?

Hey fellas,

I'm installing a new batwing/stereo/amp on to my bike and getting rid of the Boss handlebar mount Bluetooth system for obvious reasons.

I need some help with wiring in a completely new stereo/amp to a bike that never had one, so a plug and play it isn't.

Should I run separate power/remote/ground wire for both the amp and stereo, or can I run a single power/remote/ground into the batwing and hook both the amp and head unit into that?

I was thinking it would be okay to just run a single set of wires then twisting up the power/ground/remote wires from both the stereo and amp together. Not sure if that's how it's done or if it's even a good idea.

Are there any wires beyond the power/ground/remote wires that are even used from the head unit?

Do I need to wire the speakers wires from the head unit and speakers wires from the amp together, or just the speaker wires from the amp as well as the RCA cables from the head to the amp?

Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Hello,

Welcome to the forums. Before anyone can help you. I would say we need specs on what you are installing. What kind of bike and what year? Which speakers, how many and where, what amp, what head unit. Also I don't think wiring the amp and the head unit to the same power line would be a good idea.

Hello and thanks for the reply. I have a 2002 Low Rider. What I'm installing is a infinity prv351 head unit with a set of 5.25 Polk Marine speakers and a 500w Hiphonics micro Marine amp. Everything needs to be spliced together due to no wires of any kind run for a amp or stereo on my bike. I have to relocate the turning signals to where the driving lights are and those will come off and I'll splice into that power source since those lights come on with the accessories. Thanks again.
