SBates, thanks. Turned the amp around and I think it will work.

Hoyt and Houston, I have some right angle RCA'S on order to try and get a little extra room.

Is there a better amp at that price? Reading the forums and asking a few people in PM's that was the amp that was recommended.

I just cut the plastic molding off of a set of plugs and re-soldered them as shown. Afterwards I covered them with silicone and let them dry. They cleared the frame rails fine after that.

I still have the factory head unit so I couldn't use the downward leaning amp trays like folks with aftermarket units can.
Nice work

Is there a better amp at that price?
There might be a better amp at that price somewhere in the wild but LOTS of folks here have run the SS and had good luck with it. It is powerful, built tough, and doesn't have a cooling fan to worry about going south down the road. The only reason I pulled mine out was to regain some FM reception and regain a little more space under the fairing. I had to pay a LOT more money to achieve those two goals with the Arc Moto 600.4. I'm glad I swapped it out, but I was happy with the audio performance of the SS when I had it in play.

Thanks for the compliment on the jackleg RCA connectors. It's not that I'm that good at anything, but I've been soldering since I was seven or eight years old. My Father was a radio operator in the Army in the 50s and early 60s, so in my house it was just something everyone knew how to do.

The right angle RCA's I ordered will be here tomorrow. Those along with turning the amp around like SBates suggested will solve my fit issues I believe. Now I am trying to learn how to tune / adjust the amp. From what I have read while using the search function is gains to 0, volume on radio at 75% and slowly adjust gains till distortion then back off slightly. Approximately 10-11 o-clock. Correct?
