So heres my dilemma.if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Currently I have a Kenwood head unit focal fdp sport amp and focal 165 kx2 components in fairing. My stereo shop installed the speakers and when they did they hooked up Mids to 2 channels and tweeters to another 2. My question is do I need them set up that way or can I run the components off of two channels and add a set of 6 x 9s on the other two for the rear. Will the sound quality go down in the front if I do that. Also what 6x9 would u use. Money not a factor. Thanks guys

Just get the crossovers they came w from the shop and wire the components together on 1/2 and the rear on 3/4.

WTF...Do as T said and hook up the component K2's set on channel 1-2 as God intended (lol), with the passive x-over that all components sets come with and are engineered for, should sound better! If you leave the tweeters on 3-4 you'll probably smoke em! The passive x-over will also have adjustments (usually 3) settings where you can make them brighter or tone them down. I would run DD VO 6x9's in your lids, should compliment the K2's in the fairing quite well!
Rck, if you indeed are running the tweeters off 2 channels of a focal sport like you said, then you are loosing a ton of potential for that amp and your setup. Those tweeters don't require a lot of power and wont take it either. With that being said the gains off the channel running those tweeters is so low the amp is hardly working and you just aren't using the amp as intended. As Tailwind eluded to, get the crossovers that came with the speakers or a set of crossovers and put them in line for the fairing and run them off the front channels(1-2). The rear channels (3-4)off that amp will be for the 6x9's. Do you have 6x9's now? Planning on buying lids or adding a rf kit to you existing lids? As Moto Mike eluded too the dd vo's are a solid 6x9 but there is a better 6x9 than those. If you plan on getting lids for the 6x9's and have them painted, I would suggest getting 8" lids and run a 8" in the rear for a better sq and low end thump from the 8's.
So he has the crossovers in. They have 4 inputs.just to clarify. Perfect. Thats why I bought the amp. Future upgrades. Dont like the look of the 8 lids. Going w Rockford Fosgate kit. Does this come w/o speakers. Hate to spend 500 and not need the speakers. Was thinking about the milles pioneers or dd vo.open to suggestions. Also maybe I could bridge two sets and throw one pair in the bags? The k2s are 2 ohm speakers so I could run amp in 2 ohm bridge back speakers and have 250 for all 4 channels. Adjusted accordingly. Thanks for all the fast responses
x cant run 2 ohm speakers bridged as that will produce 1 ohm unstable output. The RF kit doesn't come without the speakers but I would try them as they sound a ton better than they look and are water proof. That RF kit is solid as I am running it. I have run all the 6x9's you mentioned and the hertz mpx 6x9 are the best of those mentioned. Currantly running the new mmats pa690.4cx and they by far out perform all the rest. Loud and they just pound even more than the vo's and mpx that I now have sitting on the shelf.
I have bought and installed 4 of those rf lid kits and got them all off ebay best offer for under $400. Hope this helps.

I could not be happier with my Hertz 690.3's in my bag lids, running off the same amp too.
You can run 4 6x9's that are 4 ohm, in parallel (2 ohm) off the rear 2 channels of that amp, one in lids like MMats 690.4 cx and one in bags like MMats 690.4! Ground Zero has a new 7x10 which is getting some good reviews!

You are correct as I miss read the post thinking he was going to run 2ohm speakers bridged to the amp.
Sry I didnt mean bridged. I meant amp switched to 2 ohm. So 4 mmats 690 in rear running parallel off of channel 3+4 and Focal krx2k2 off of channel 1+2. With the focal fdp sport switched to 2 ohm. What do you set the crossover too for the Mmats
