I am looking for future upgrades, I want to be able to have a kind of plug-and-play system. I have the mounting plate for the PBR300x2 already on the bike, not sure if I will need to change that but will do what is needed. As I may add pods to my tourpak I want to keep the option for rear speakers open. I have just done the new RockfordFosgate flash and it seems to be working really well. The bike sounds good with Stage 1 Boom speakers and a PBR300x2 but the amp is OLD and I am sure the speakers are eventually going to blow putting that much power through them. I am doing what I can to mitigate damage but it's a matter of time.
So, here is what I am thinking:
Stinger SPX700X2 Stinger SVTK4681 Wiring Kit MMAT PA601cs x 2
If I add pods later I will use the same speakers....or should I go to a 6 1/2" mini sub?

Thoughts?
Sounds like a great 2 speaker set up. As for lowers, they would work great as well. A sub would do you no good for many reasons, subs need air (space) as well as you lose bass as soon as you get up to speed. What you are going to look for is a "punchy" speaker that provides mid bass and fuller sound with the ability to give you volume.
In the parking lot my 4 speaker set up sounds good, not great but, at speed it sounds great. If you are only going for a 2 or 4 speaker set up, you will have to also determine where you want the best sound, In the parking lot or on the road.

Definitely on the road, I don't do a lot of parking lot jamming.
Sony MEX70 HU, Arc Moto 600.4 amp, DD AW6.5/AT28s in fairing and Beyma Pro6wnd in lowers. The DDs provide the full range sound with that thump in the chest and the Beymas provide the volume at speed.
