Default Help - adding amp to existing system

Looked through the old threads but most are amp recommendations for complete system rebuilds.

I purchased a 2010 RG this spring from a guy who needed to sell the bike to pay some bills. Over the winter the PO had bought a brand new Aquatic AV AQ-MP-5UBT-HS and a set of the 6.5″ AQ-SPK6.5-4HB Speakers that he planned to install but did not get around to it. I had been told that the older HK stuff was bad but I surprised how bad the stock stereo was.

I decided to install the new stuff and overall the install is easy and I like the idea of having my iPhone inside but I have to say the sound quality is mediocre at best. I assume that adding a decent amp would get it to a reasonable quality.

The bike is my first touring Harley and so far I like the ride and will probably purchase a brand new bike in a year or two. I am looking for a recommendation for a good amp to add to the existing system to use until I buy the new one. Or a recommendation that it is a waste of money with the Aquatic gear.

Here are my answers to the usual questions.
- do not want to scrap the Aquatic head unit and speakers (understand there may be limitations to this stuff but I have it and its new)
- just want it loud and clear enough to drove down the road at 70 mph.
- not planning to add more than the two fairing speakers (famous last words?)
- listen to classic rock/blues
- budget is not a constraint (doesn't have to be $99 but spending $1000 seems a waste)

A stinger will fit perfectly above the HU between the supports. With all connections in the front, there is no worries about routing any wiring.

after you do this, you will realize how bad the AQ speakers are, the HU is ok, but the speakers suck.

Are you talking about the Stinger 350 or 700? I assume I need a rack of some type to put it on top of the head unit?
